Good points and I'd definitely suggest asking trusted sources such as family, friends, co-workers, etc. Also, when you arrive into Branson it's a good idea to ask locals such as the person checking you into your room, your waiter/waitress, etc. Chances are they have lived there for a while and know some great places to eat and things to do...or even how to save money on all of it.

Good tips!

While on the subject of the internet, websites that list shows as 'Most Popular' 'Branson Favorites' when the truth of the matter is that the shows are paying the website to be called "Most Popular' and 'Branson Favorites'. Advise for the visitors, let your likes lead you in your choices for entertainment. But most of all just have fun while in Branson.
