St. Louis Hip-Hop artist Nelly makes history as the first rapper ever to headline in Branson, Missouri next month ushering in a new era of expanded entertainment options in the “Live Music Capital of the World.”

According to Grand Palace manager Paul Dunn, Nelly will perform August 21st on an outdoor stage in the rear parking lot as the interior of the theater is undergoing major renovations after being closed for the past couple years.

“We are going to modernize our entertainment here.  Branson has the best shows, but we are going to bring entertainers that are hot now, everywhere worldwide.”

Paul Dunn, Grand Palace manager

Nelly’s concert will be the start of an attempt to expand Branson’s musical offerings to include Hip-Hop, R&B and other genres of music.  Additional future concerts are expected to resume inside the Grand Palace in September.

Tickets for the ground breaking concert go on sale July 12th.  For more information visit the Grand Palace website.
